CAL UNITED STRIKERS FC STATEMENT

ON SUSPENSION OF NISA SEASON

In light of the issue created by the outbreak of COVID-19, the National Independent Soccer Association league office and it’s Board of Governors are suspending the season for 30 days, effective immediately.

We are closely monitoring developments in our community on COVID-19, including updates from Orange County officials  and the Center for Disease Control. We are committed to the health and safety of our fans, players, staff members and community.

When appropriate, the league and club will provide additional updates on the continuation of NISA’s 2020 Spring Season. We appreciate the continued support of our fans.

ANTICIPATED Q & A

Q: Why 30-days and not the entire season?

A: At this juncture, this allows the league to evaluate the ongoing evolving situation with medical experts and the emerging data. As new information becomes available the league is poised to make decisions as necessary for the health and well-being our fans, players, staff and communities.

Q: How will NISA be handling the missed matches during this 30-day suspension?

A: As it currently stands, this 30 day suspension will directly affect 14 matches and 1 Cal United Strikers game will result in a restructure of our schedule format. Games currently scheduled during this suspension period will be rescheduled for early summer.

Q: Will this affect NISA’s current plans for the post-season? Playoffs? Championship?

A: NISA will forego any playoffs this summer and have a Single Table Champion.

Q: When will you have an update on reconvening with scheduled matches?

A: We will be monitoring the highly-fluid situation in consultation with medical experts and in consideration of the guidelines being put forth by local governments and public health officials and the CDC to determine next steps for moving forward with safe protocol.

Q: Will you be re-starting in 30 days?

A: Again, the situation is very fluid and highly evolving. 30 days is the suspension for now. As more information becomes available, we will be sure to give an update.

Q: What happens if someone in the club is diagnosed?

A: We would have anyone who has come into contact with that person self-isolate and be tested.

Q: I have a season pass, now what?

A: No action is needed. The current pass will remain valid for rescheduled games.

Q: What about games after 30 days?

A: Should additional time be required the club will announce all information to our fans and supporters accordingly

Q: Where can I stay up to date on all information moving forward?
