CHRISTIAN THIERJUNG NOTCHES HIS SECOND OF THE SEASON IN WIN

A season-first shutout for Mitch North capped a solid Sunday afternoon.

Irvine, CA – Cal United Strikers FC earned a win against league newcomers Chicago House AC at Championship Soccer Stadium.

A very solid performance saw Cal United Strikers unlucky to not score multiple chances, while a good defensive effort ensure a season-first shut out for Mitch North.

Head Coach Don Ebert changed the lineup again with new signing Guilherme Farias given a start in a wingback position.

His late impact in the previous game against LA Force earned him the starting spot for the game against Chicago and he made the most of it.

Multiple early chances were created from Farias' right side, with both Minjae Kwak and Omar Nuno unlucky to not get in on the end of it.

The 14th minute saw the game's only goal with birlliant one touch combination play between Farias, Nuno, Kwak, and eventual goalscorer Christian Thierjung.

The second half saw an Omar Nuno header brilliantly saved, while on the other end of the pitch the visitors could only put one shot on target.
