TICKET SALES AND OPERATIONS INTERN

California United Strikers FC is Orange County’s newest professional sports team. The club is based in Rancho Santa Margarita and plays its home games at the Championship Soccer Stadium in Irvine, CA. The team competes in the rapidly expanding National Independent Soccer Association (NISA) which is officially sanctioned by the US Soccer Federation as a Division III professional league. 

LENGTH: March – October 

        

HOURS: During week as available/scheduled and available for all game days 

 

COMPENSATION: Unpaid, school credit required

SUMMARY:     

The Cal United Strikers FC Ticket Sales and Operations Intern will gain valuable knowledge and firsthand experience working in the professional sports industry. The intern will learn and assist with the coordination and administration of Ticket Sales, Ticket Operations, Customer Service, Special Projects, and Game Day Operations.

 

Responsibilities and Duties:

 

  • Execute, develop, promote, and help sell ticket packages and group nights for the 2022 season under the direction of the sales executive
  • Assist with Game Day Experiences management 
  • Assist sales executives at events by prospecting for new business and tickets sales opportunities 
  • Assist with the creation of data reports
  • Assist with managing alliance partners  
  • Assists with data collection and entry to build our consumer database 
  • Be accountable for all consumer “touch points” (i.e. via email, telephone and in person) 
  • Assisting the staff in various game day events, set-up and activities
  • Assist sales staff with clerical duties, direct mailers, and special projects
  • Research ticket sales best practices and prospect new revenue generating opportunities 
  • Additional tasks and duties as assigned by the Director, Ticket Sales and Operations

COMMUNITY RELATIONS INTERN

SUMMARY: 

 

The Cal United Strikers FC Community Relations Intern will gain valuable knowledge and firsthand experience working in the professional sports industry. The Community Relations intern will assist with various community outreach initiatives. The intern will learn and assist with the coordination and administration of Ticket Sales, Ticket Operations, Customer Service, Special Projects, and Game Day Operations.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

 

  • Assist with various outreach programs with schools, nonprofits and after-school programs
  • Assist with Cal United events calendar and attend events that fit the club’s mandate and will provide the best return on objectives
  • Assist with player appearance calendar 
  • Assist with player and team fan mail and in-kind donations
  • Assist in Ticket Alliances Program 
  • Assist with collection and data entry 
  • Assisting the staff in various game day events/activities
  • Aide in administrative duties, daily task, direct mailers and special projects and be accountable for all customer “touch points” (i.e. via direct mail, email. Telephone and in person) 
  • Assist sales executives at events when prospecting for new business and overall sales 
  • Execute, develop, promote, and help sell sponsorship packages under the direction of the Community Relations Director
  • Execute, develop, promote, and help sell special packages and group nights for the 2022 season under the direction of the Community Relations Director
  • Other tasks and duties as assigned by the Community Relations Director

SUMMARY: 

 

The Cal United Strikers FC Game Operations Intern will gain valuable knowledge and 

firsthand experience working in the professional sports industry. The intern will learn and assist with stadium operations and event coordination. 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

 

  • Assist with the creation of game day production notes, timeline, and scripts
  • Assist with acquiring vendors for gameday 
  • Assist in compiling game day stats 
  • Assist with preparations for game day activities including stadium set-up and tear down
  • Assist with the set-up of pre-game and post-game events (i.e. Chalk talk, soccer clinics, autograph sessions, on-field operations)
  • Assist with distributing game day promotional items 
  • Provide support to all other departments 
  • Assist in planning and execution of all Cal United Strikers events and other tasks and duties as assigned by the VP, Operations

GAME DAY EVENT STAFF

Cal United Strikers FC is a professional men’s soccer team based in Orange County, CA. The club is an inaugural founding member of the National Independent Soccer Association (NISA) and plays its home games out of the Championship Soccer Stadium at the OC Great Park in Irvine.

This mission truly comes alive on matchdays when we welcome our fans into the stadium and work diligently to ensure they have such a great time that they return game after game. To help achieve this objective, California United Strikers FC is now hiring Game Day Event Staff.

POTENTIAL DUTIES AND EXPECTATIONS:

This role is a flexible, match-dependent role that will have you performing many different duties over the course of your shift including:

  • Assist with match operations, event presentation, signage set-up and tear down 
  • Help with walk-out kids and ball kids, making sure kids are in place during walk-out and match play
  • Scanning tickets and ushering fans to assigned sections
  • Assist with the sale of merchandise and concessions and/or assist in the sale of tickets in the box office
  • After the game, make sure all banners and decorations are in the proper storage
  • Other duties as assigned

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to work all thirteen home games (2022 schedule found HERE)
  • Must possess a charismatic, cheerful and energetic personality and be comfortable interacting with fans
  • Must have a strong work ethic and work well in a team environment 
  • Must be able to handle working in a fast-paced environment and think quickly on your feet
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs
