FAQs about Holiday Camp

Q: What level of player is this camp designed for?

Cal United Strikers Holiday Skills Camp is open to boys and girl ages 6-14 of all skill levels. From beginners to aspiring professionals! Within the registration portal, we ask all campers to share their level of experience and campers will be separated into groups based on their experience and age. But because this is a skills-based camp, the coaching is individualized and the focus is on improving each player’s individual skill level – regardless of their starting point.

Q: What safety precautions are being observed given we are in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic?

We are following all State COVID-19 guidelines to keep all campers and staff members safe. For a full list of the safety precautions we are following, please click HERE.

Q: Who are the coaches and what will my child learn at this camp?

This is what makes us special! All coaching will be conducted by current Cal United Strikers FC professional players. The players will share the wisdom and experience they have gained in their journey to becoming a professional athlete. Campers will be led through a skill and technique based curriculum developed in consultation with our head coach, Don Ebert.

Q: Do you allow for early drop-off?

Yes. The camp instruction runs from 9:00am – 12:00pm but the drop-off and pickup windows extend 30 minutes pre and post to make it more convenient for parents. Our drop-off and pickup windows are 8:30am – 9:00am and 12:00pm – 12:30pm respectively.

Q: What should my child bring with him/her to camp?

Every camper should arrive each morning with their water bottle(s), small snack, sunscreen and soccer or athletic shoes (we will be playing on an artificial turf field). Since there will be no physical contact between players, shin pads are not required.

Q: Will water or snacks be provided?

Due to the current COVID-19 situation, we will not be providing snacks or water bottles to the campers.

Q: How many kids will be in my child’s group?

We will be assigning campers into groups based on age and skill level with cohorts no bigger than 14 players. We will operate with a maximum player to coach ratio of 7:1.

Q: I have a group/team that would like to register together. Is that possible?

Absolutely! Please contact camps@calunitedstrikers.com if this applies to you so that we can ensure the group is placed together.

Q: What if my child can only attend one or two days of camp?

Unfortunately, at this time we are only offering the full three-day camp. They are of course welcome to attend whatever days they can, but the cost will be for the three-day camp. We plan on expanding our camps and clinic programming in the future, so please visit our website for updates.
