CAL UNITED STRIKERS FC ANNOUNCE THE SIGNINGS OF ALEX VEDAMANIKAM AND FELIPE LIBORIO JR.

Both signings are the newest faces in the squad ahead of the Fall 2021 season

ORANGE COUNTY, CA – California United Strikers FC announced two signings ahead of the Fall 2021 season - midfielder Felipe Liborio Jr. and forward Alex Vedamanikam.

Liborio Jr. is the latest Strikers FC Irvine product to join the Cal United Strikers FC roster. The pipeline from the youth academy continues to add quality players for the NISA team’s roster with Brady Treinen, Shane Kaemerle, Minjae Kwak, Shinya Kadono, and Christian Thierjung all youth academy graduates.

“I’m very excited to sign with Cal United Strikers FC this season, especially growing up in the [Strikers FC Irvine] academy.” Liborio Jr. reflected after signing. “Seeing familiar faces and being able to team up with them motivates me to win a championship with them.”

Liborio Jr. signed from 1904 FC and his experience playing in NISA will be a welcome addition to the squad.

Alex Vedamanikam joins Cal United Strikers FC as a highly rated forward from the Real Salt Lake academy. Having played abroad at both Eintracht Braunschweig and Alicante City FC, as well as with the U18 USYNT, Vedamanikam’s ability in the final third should make an immediate impact to an already strong forward line.

“I am extremely grateful to have signed with Cal United Strikers FC and I am looking forward to a successful season with this group,” said Vedamanikam. “I am expecting great things for our team. I want to thank God for this opportunity He has given me, and I want to make the most of it.”

Cal United Strikers FC looks forward to a full Fall 2021 season. GM Michael Collins is very excited at the impact both these players may have.

“Alex was recommended to us by one of our scouts in Arizona and you can tell immediately the impact his work rate and goals provide. It’s a huge addition to our offense” said Collins. “Liborio Jr. is a Strikers FC product. He understands the demands the head coach [Don Ebert] will place on him and is willing to take on this challenge.”
