AYDAN BOWERS RESCUES POINT FOR CAL UNITED STRIKERS FC

A goal in extra time saved a point at home against 10-men LA Force.
 

 

Irvine, CA – Cal United Strikers FC salvaged a draw against LA Force in the So Cal Derby at Championship Soccer Stadium.

 

Captain Aydan Bowers found himself on the end of Guilherme Farias cross in the 90th minute as Cal United Strikers keep their 3rd place spot on the NISA Fall 2021 table.

 

Head Coach Don Ebert went with a young starting line up with Alejandro "Chile" Araneda (18), Brady Treinen (17), and Minjae Kwak (21) all given starts.

 

A feisty game saw a number of yellow cards awarded to both teams, with a second yellow awarded to LA Force in the 48th minute.

 

LA Force forward Christian Chaney put away a goal in extra time of the first half, hitting a first-time volley after a cross from the left.

 

Despite a number of chances for Cal United Strikers, they weren't able to break the LA Force backline until extra time in the second half after brilliant play from Guilherme Farias.
